It is divided into two as general pathology and specific (systemic) pathology. General pathology deals with abnormal stimuli in cells or tissues that underlie all diseases. Systemic pathology investigates the specific responses of defined stimuli on specific organs and tissues.

In the pathology laboratory; Cervicovaginal smear, fine needle aspirations taken with US or CT if necessary, tru-cut biopsies, small biopsies, excisional biopsies and operation materials are examined in detail. In the cervicovaginal smear test; liquid-based smear technique is used.

In the examination of biopsy and operation materials; If necessary, advanced staining studies such as histochemical and immunohistochemical studies are recommended, especially in tumor cases.

Also; If requested by our surgeons, intraoperatively, 15-30 minutes during surgery. Frozen section study can be performed for diagnosis.
